Money Management - How do I WIN at Sports Betting ?
If you want to do sports betting in a serious way of making money,
you must treat it as you would any other business. You inventory
is you CA$H and if you run out of cash then you are out of business.
After 20 years of doing this, I know the number of plays I can have
and I know my bet size per play. I can win between 53% and 56% and
which probably sounds kinda dull when you read it that way. I have
always believed that if you have a boring business, you will have
a well ran business without any surprises and I will know what to
expect.
You can expect to lose some bets and lose some money any day, week
or month. The sports bettor MUST know their bankroll to invest !!!
Say my bankroll is $10,000 then I would wager 1% of my bankroll
or $100 per play. Some people make a BIG mistake and change the
$100 to $200 when they are HOT, but guess what your HOT streak will
end sooner or later, then you have lost 3 straight $200 bets and
know you will go down to betting $50 per play and WIN 6 in a row,
but guess what, you have lost $660 and only won $300 and have lost
a total of $360 during your last 9 plays after WINNING 6 and only
losing 3 !!!! However, you would have WON $270 during that streak
laying $110 to win $100 on each bet !!!
As soon as you can draw money from your bankroll, you should put
yourself on a salary. That way you can know what to expect for an
income and won't be bothered by the short term vagaries of Lady
Luck. The reality is that each person may be trying to accomplish
something different. If your goal is to afford entertainment and
not go broke, that is entirely different then a goal of making a
living. Let's say you bet $100 a game on Monday Night Football to
enjoy the game, it will probably cost you $5 a week at the end of
the season if you can win 50% of the bets. There is nothing wrong
with that, cheaper than watching a movie. That is entertainment
expense, not an investment approach.

will be a winner at the end of the football season. I am going to
try and help you select the right time and correct number to bet
on for you to win above the break even point.
When to bet and why ? If you are going to bet on the underdog, you
should try to lay your bet as late as possible. Most people like
to bet on the favorites and if most of the money is bet on the favorite,
then the book will move the line to make it more attractive to bet
on the dog. Most recreational bettors flock to favorites, and why
not, as they are the team that should win. When betting on the favorite,
you should bet right when the line comes out. The longer you wait,
the higher that number becomes.
What are the key numbers ? In football the key numbers are 3, 4,
6, and 7. The books don't like to come off these numbers, especially
in the NFL. If you see a line change off a key number, you can be
sure that there was a lot of money to make the book move the line
off a key number. Around 14 percent of games in the NFL, that is
1 out of 7, are decided by a field goal. What this means is that
if a bettor can lay 2.5 and take 3.5, they would have a legit edge
of the book.
You can combine this information and other homework to become a
more profitable sports bettor this football season and enjoy your

Betting on NFL Pre-Season
I enjoy the opportunity to view and wager on preseason NFL games.
I have learned some predictable trends and key situations that can
boost my bankroll before the NFL regular season begins. It is never
too early for NFL.
Some things to key on during preseason NFL are below and remember
that Week 1 of the preseason usually offers little value. Coaches
will tell the media what their goal and agenda is going to be for
the upcoming game that week. How many snaps will their starting
QB be taking and how many years of experience are their second and
third string quarterbacks ? Depth is something the experts say can't
be ignored when betting the preseason, particularly with quarterbacks.
How long will we expect to see the starters on both sides of the
ball, usually the starters play more as the preseason continues
during the weeks . All teams are fully motivated in regular season
play. That is not true in preseason. Find teams that are very motivated
against teams that are not playing to full potential for a variety
of reasons and you will have a strong play.
You need to know what a coach is trying to accomplish and most of
the time a new coach will want to instill a winning attitude. Other
coaches just want to make sure their starters don't get hurt. Head
coaches on the hot seat or new coaches trying to implement a winning
strategy with new faces usually try harder to win in the preseason.
A sports bettor must always keep the "number" in mind when handicapping
a game. However, with certain teams in certain situations, I am
here to tell you, over the long haul, it just does not matter in
NFL Pre-Season.
